Provenience – key to increasing the value of wine

History of wine should be documented from the moment of its production to its purchase by an individual customer. The market value of wine partially depends on the conditions in which it underwent the whole of this route. Responsibility for wine quality lies with agents, the less of them the smaller is the risk that unstable and dangerous factors occur. Finally it is the owner’s responsibility to assure that wine matures in the right place. If a collector wants to resale its collection, he/she should be able to provide documentary evidence of the conditions in which it is stored. In the countries with long tradition of wine turnover, official documents, services of transport monitoring and certificates of storage in specialist storehouses are as important as the assessment of a bottle, cork and wine quality made by experts in auction houses.
